AI Answering Service for Plumbers

Every missed call is an emergency callout that goes to whoever answers first.

Plumbing is one of the least forgiving trades for a missed call. Someone with water coming through a ceiling does not leave a voicemail and wait — they work down the search results until a human picks up. By the time you listen back, the job is already booked with someone else.

The hard part is that the calls arrive exactly when you cannot take them: under a sink, on a roof, driving between jobs, or at eleven at night. An answering service fixes the coverage problem but adds a per-call cost and a script that rarely knows your rates or your patch.

What an AI receptionist does differently

It answers on the first ring every time, including nights and weekends, and it already knows what you told it — your service area, your callout fee, whether you handle gas, what counts as an emergency. It takes the caller’s name, number and the nature of the problem, and if they want a slot it books one into your calendar there and then.

When the caller asks something it was not briefed on, it takes a message rather than inventing an answer. You get the recording and the transcript, so you can ring back knowing exactly what was said.

What it will not do

It is not a dispatcher and it is not a diagnostic. It will not price a complex job or decide whether something is safe to leave until morning. What it does is make sure every caller reaches something other than voicemail, and that you have their details when you are free.

Questions plumbers ask

Can it tell an emergency from a routine job?

It asks the questions you brief it to ask - is water still running, have you found the stop tap, is it coming through a ceiling - and flags the call as urgent. It does not decide whether something is safe to leave until morning; it gets you the answers fast enough that you can.

Will it quote a price or a callout fee?

Only the figures you give it. If you brief it with your callout fee it repeats that. If a caller pushes for a price on a job it was not briefed on, it takes a message rather than inventing a number you would then have to honour.

What actually happens to a burst pipe call at 2am?

It answers on the first ring, takes the address, what is leaking and a contact number, and marks it urgent. The recording and transcript land straight away, so you can decide whether to go out now or at six without ringing back to ask what happened.

Do I have to give up my existing number?

No. You keep your number and forward it to the local line we provide. Forward everything, or set it to forward only when you have not picked up after a few rings, so you still answer the ones you can.

Can it book a job while I am under a sink?

Yes. It checks your Google Calendar during the call and books a free slot there and then, so the job is in the diary before you have climbed out from under the unit.
